Quinsin Nachoff:  Patterns from Nature (world premiere)

Composer/saxophonist Quinsin Nachoff joins with physicist Dr Stephen Morris and filmmakers Udo Prinsen,Gita Blak, Lee Hutzulak and Tina de Groot for Patterns from Nature, a mesmerizing new 40-minute, immersive multimedia journey through the interconnectedness of nature, film, and music.  Also on the program, is Winding Tessellations, Nachoff’s saxophone concerto. 

Blending jazz and classical elements, the compositions are performed by a chamber ensemble featuring woodwinds, brass, percussion, piano, string quartet, bass, drum set, and conductor.  Featured soloists include François Houle (clarinet), Quinsin Nachoff (tenor saxophone), Ryan Keberle (trombone), Molinari String Quartet, Matt Mitchell (piano), Carlo De Rosa (bass) and Satoshi Takeishi (drums).
